St Vincent’s Private Hospital is regarded as one of Australia’s leading providers of private healthcare, with a reputation for treating the highest patient acuity levels of any such hospital in Sydney. 2009 marks the Centenary of St Vincent's Private Hospital, celebrating one hundred years of excellence in compassionate care.

Key services at St Vincent’s Private include inpatient facilities, day surgery, cardiac catheter suite, endoscopy unit and medical imaging services. Areas in which the Hospital is particularly renowned are cardiac surgery, ENT surgery, orthopaedic surgery, neurosurgery and urology.

Accredited by the Australian Council of Health Care Standards, the Hospital’s outstanding reputation for quality care has seen it named, time and again by patients and health fund surveys, as one of the premier metropolitan hospitals in Australia.

In 2007 St Vincent’s Private won numerous awards, notably the prestigious “2007 Press Ganey Associates Australia Success Story”. Key to St Vincent’s Private’s success was the implementation of its 2005-2009 business plan which embodies three key strategic themes:

With the recent acquisition of the da Vinci Surgical System, St Vincent’s Private is a national leader in keyhole laparoscopic surgery and continues to be at the forefront of surgical advancements.

The Hospital is owned by the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity and is a member of the Sisters of Charity Health Service of Australia. Operationally, it is integrated within St Vincents & Mater Health Sydney. The Board of SV&MHS serves in an advisory capacity to the Congregation with respect to St Vincent’s Private Hospital.
