Bequests

Helping us to care for future generations

Assisted by generous individuals through donations and bequests, St Vincent's Private Hospital continually pursues excellence in patient care, teaching and research. Indeed, certain areas of the Hospital exist only because of the generosity of those individuals who have left a bequest or made a substantial donation to St Vincent's Private Hospital.

Through your compassion and planning, your support would help us to provide care for future generations. Your support for St Vincent's Private through a bequest will help us to build upon the achievements of today to make the discoveries and advances of tomorrow.

Making a bequest

There are a number of ways in which you can help St Vincent's Private Hospital through a bequest in your will. Here are some examples:

1. You can give a specified amount of money. This is the simplest form of bequest.

2.  You can provide a percentage of your estate, for example 50 per cent or 20 per cent for St Vincent's Private Hospital. This ensures that your family and friends are not disadvantaged by the changes in the size of your estate, or by inflation.

3.  After providing for family and friends, you may decide to leave the residue of your estate (what is left) to St Vincent's Private Hospital.

4. You can leave a particular item or items, such as shares, paintings, property, jewellery, your car or other items of value in your will. Note that due to possible taxation ramifications, you should discuss this option with your solicitor.

5. You can take out a life insurance policy or an endowment policy with St Vincent's Private Hospital nominated as the sole beneficiary. Note that due to possible taxation ramifications, you should discuss this option with your solicitor.

If you have any questions regarding a bequest, or would like to make a bequest, simply contact the Executive Office on (02) 8382 7408.
