These services are all about helping patients return to normal, comfortable, independent function as quickly as possible. No matter what the reason for admission, be it surgery, care following trauma or an acute or chronic medical problem, therapy services may be referred by a treating Doctor to assist patients in attaining the best quality of life possible during and following their stay in hospital.

Physiotherapy

St Vincent’s Private Hospital offers the services of a number of physiotherapists with special postgraduate expertise, including orthopaedic, neurology, ICU and cardiothoracic therapists. The physiotherapy service is available seven days per week, including an on-call service.

Occupational Therapy

These services include the assessment and treatment of patients with cardiac, chronic pain, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. Functional guidelines are provided to patients following spinal and joint replacement surgery and equipment can be organised, if necessary. A hand therapy and splinting service is also available.

Speech Pathology

Speech services are utilised particularly for neurological, neurosurgical and head and neck surgical patients.
