An extended service for patients, the Patient Transit Lounge is a comfortable, relaxing and safe environment for use prior to being transferred to a procedure, waiting for a room allocation or discharge.

Services

• We are able to provide assistance with discharge needs.
• Nursing care is available for those who may need it.
• Television, video and reading material is provided for your entertainment.
• DVA bookings are confirmed and taxis can be booked from the Lounge.
• Complimentary tea, coffee, sandwiches and lunch are served in the Lounge.

Many patients use the Lounge to wait for relatives after discharge. When you enter the Lounge, reception and switchboard staff will be notified so that you can be found easily if a friend or relative needs to contact you.

Your family or friends are permitted to park in the front driveway of the Hospital when collecting you from the Lounge, as it is located close to the main entrance.

Location

The Patient Transit Lounge is located on level 4, along the corridor to the rear of the main foyer.

Hours

Monday to Friday, from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm.
If your relative is arriving after this time, please inform the Patient Transit Lounge nurse and alternative arrangements will be made.
